COSCO SHIPPING Lines Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as COSCO SHIPPING Lines or the Company), a subsidiary of China COSCO SHIPPING Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as COSCO SHIPPING Group), is a wholly-owned subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Holdings Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as COSCO SHIPPING Holdings, Stock Code: 01919.HK; 601919.SH), which is dually listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Shanghai Stock Exchange.
COSCO SHIPPING Lines was formed with the integrated container businesses of COSCO Container Lines Co., Ltd. and China SHIPPING Container Lines CO., Ltd.. It commenced operation on 1st March 2016 with a registered capital of RMB23.664 billion. Its registered address is Hongkou District in Shanghai. The Company is mainly engaged in domestic and international container shipping services and related businesses. The Company is one of COSCO Shipping Group’s core business segments.
COSCO SHIPPING Lines is headquartered in Shanghai with 28 departments. It has established domestic branches in 9 ports located in Dalian, Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, South China, Hainan and Wuhan respectively, and 9 overseas branches in Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, West Asia, South America, Australia, Japan, Korea and Africa respectively. By the end of September 2023, COSCO SHIPPING Lines had a total of 238 corporate enterprises in China and overseas with over 400 marketing and service outlets spread across the world. The Company employs 17,000 staff globally, including 5,305 overseas members.
By the end of September 2023, COSCO SHIPPING Lines owned and operated 376 container vessels with a total capacity of approximately 2.1 million TEUs (the Company and Oriental Overseas International, a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Holdings, owned and operated 493 container vessels with a total capacity of 3.0 million TEUs, leading the industry in terms of shipping capacity). The Company operates 400 international and domestic shipping routes, including 263 international routes (including international feeder services), 53 domestic routes, and 84 feeder routes along the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River. The Company’s fleet has called 594 ports located in 144 countries and regions worldwide.
The Ocean Alliance, made up of COSCO SHIPPING Lines, CMA CGM, Evergreen and OOCL, came into operation on 1st April 2017 with a duration of 10 years.
